Evaluation 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

During my AS production of this product I have used 'Final Cut Pro', 'SoundTrack Pro', 'Compressor', 'After Effects', 'IMovie', 'Blogger' and 'YouTube' in order for me to edit, create and distribute my film. For example, I wanted to make it look like sections of my film was from the past and in order for me to do this I used 'Final Cut Pro' and the 8mm film clip to put onto a layer which is on top of the film. In order to film my introduction I used a Canon 7D. This was very helpful because the quality of the footage made the opening sequence look well presented. It also allowed me to change aperture and depth of field. The lens I used was a 17-50mm which gave my film a wide vision and I was able to shoot my selected shots without hassle.

1 YouTube - Has been a big help this year, it has helped me watch movies, which have inspired and influenced me with my media product. I knew about YouTube before taking media AS however had never uploaded anything onto the site.

Blogger- With the use of Blogger I have been able to document my year of AS media in a interesting and interactive way. By having it online it has made it easier for my teacher to check my work to see if I am on track. Blogger  allows me to save the posts as drafts, which I can come back to if I am not finished. I can also embed videos from YouTube, images and sound. I had never used a blog since starting media and didn't know how to use it, but I have found it very easy to use and understand.

Final cut Pro- I have used this program a lot during producing my final media product, it is a fast way of editing. I have very much enjoyed using final cut pro during my AS as it is so simple and easy to create very effective media without much hassle at all.

Sound track Pro- I used sound track pro to produce the audio to my final film. It was very easy to find as many different sound effects as you wanted and helped me to produce many different sounds to many different films. It was very easy to use once you knew where everything was.

Compressor – I had never used this program before, however since starting the course I have used it a number of times and found it easier. It reduces the size of the film footage shot to a size that final cut and sound track pro can work with.

After Effects – It is a postproduction program, which you can produce title. I used this to add in my title and create the effect over them, I also used it to make up my production company logo. I was able to-do this with video copilot. I found that the tow programmes are very simple to use when gone through very slowly, however ‘Andrew Kaner’ the man who guides you thought the video copilot when to fast, so you have to keep stoping and starting his movies.

Imovie – This is program which allows you to produce a movie in a easy and quick way. I used imovie to produce videos of feedback interviews and showing the different camera settings .
