What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?


With my film being a period war genre I would want it to be represented through a company that has already produced a war film, so that they have the experience to know what publicity I would need. 


On the left are my production company idents and on the right are the logos from Saving Private Ryan. Saving Private Ryan has two different production companies in order for them to have the most up to date equipment for the film. This is also the reason I would have three different ones. However, Saving Private Ryan was sent straight to the cinema and as I would not have the funds I would want my film to be downloaded. This would save money and at the same time give people different options on how they would want to watch the movie.  

DreamWorks Animation SKG creates high-quality family entertainment, including computer-generated (CG) animated feature films, television specials and series and live entertainment properties. With world-class creative talent and technological capabilities, DreamWorks Animation releases two or three CG animated feature films a year that deliver great stories, breathtaking visual imagery and a sensibility that appeals to both children and adults. If I were to use DreamWorks productions to produce my film I would have the right people as they have already produced a war film so they would know what kind of publicity I would need. However, I would feel as though their audiences may been a little different to what I would want for my film as I would not want children to watch my film.

Paramount Pictures Corporation is a global producer and distributor of filmed entertainment, with robust and multi-faceted divisions across all areas including digital, home entertainment, network and cable television distribution, studio operations, and consumer products and recreation. 

Paramount consists of several film labels including, the legendary Paramount Pictures; leading youth brand, MTV Films; the preeminent family entertainment label, Nickelodeon Movies; and specialty film labels, Paramount Vantage and Paramount Classics. In addition, the Studio will continue to release a number of films under the DW label. Paramount also has established distribution deals with iconic comic book creator, Marvel Entertainment and renowned animated film producer, DreamWorks Animation. 

I would want my film to be represented by this production company as they had had experience is producing war films and also they have many different connections so my film would be able to be distributed through different companies, with a range of experience.
