Example 2- Dexter

I chose these opening titles because there were different and clever shots in them. I found that there were a lot of things that could get the audiences’ attention and get them thinking about what was going to happen.

I chose these shots because I think that it is a really clever. I like the camera angle and the focus because to begin with it is in focus on the spider and then jumps into focus of the man’s face. The fact that he kills the spider could give info into the later part of the film.

I like this title because it looks like the writing is in blood, which relates to the possibility of something to do with killing.  I think that this looks really cool in an opening sequence.
I really like the camera angles on this as well as the focus. I am really keen to have a shot like this in mine because I think like that they are looking into a mirror and you can see their reflection as well as the back of their head.
This shot really intrigues me because it looks like ketchup represents blood on the plate. This could give the viewers a pretty clear idea of what would happen in the rest of the movie. I also really like the fact that it is close up because you really feel involved in the action.
I also think that this shot really brings you into the action as you have a clear view of his hands and the tightness of the rope, which may give a clue to something later on in the film.
I absolutely love this shot because it is really close on the shoe being done up which shows the man going somewhere.  This kind of shot would be really cool to have because it would show clearly what the person was doing.

I like this shot because it is very different from most shots. It clearly shows the man getting changed but it makes him look a little bit like a ghost. The camera is straight on to his face, which could show a position of power and strength.
I like this shot, again because it is close up on the mans hand just pulling the key out of the door. I think that the director did this to show the audience that the film is actually about to start as the first thing you do is lock your door when you leave.
