Mundane Task
I have done this task to show all the different possible camera angle shots that could be used for filming my opening title. I think that this has been very useful because I now know that the way that I filmed some of the shots didn't quite go together, and the actor changed hands, so I know that I need to make sure the actor doesn't swap hands. I also think that it was useful to know how to edit a film and make it fit properly.
Target Audience Interview
I have decided to interview two different people who I think would give me very clear answers about my film. The first is Jack Howard, the second is Pat Billington and the third is Simon Dufty. I have done this because I think that having people who were around in the war would give me a better insight into things they had to endure.
I interviewed Pat Billington on what she thought about war films.
Before I started to film her, I asked her the questions before hand, so that she would have an idea of what to say. When asking her the questions she said this;
'I don't think that many women my age want to watch war films. Personally I would never go and see another one because the first one I saw, I had to leave because I didn't want to see what really happened to my dad and grandfather, and also women don't really like all the blood and guts of war films.'
After this interview I decided to change my target audience to men of 60+, instead of men and women 60+.
I then went on to interview my dad, as he does like war films.

The Location shots:
These pictures there are some actor shots and location shots. There are also some shots that we have incorporated in our film.

After Effects
In this shot I was inserting text into a shot. I clicked on the text button top right and then typing what I wanted it to say. To make the clip the length I wanted to, which I think should be about 5 seconds, I dragged the clip to the right and then used the forward arrow to make it as long I want it to be.
To make this clip I duplicated the clip before it by pressing CMD D. I then moved it to the section that I wanted it to be and then I made it disappear faster than the rest of them as I thought that this would look better. I then added a little bit of fuzziness to the shot, however I think that I could have added a little more as it isn't particularly visible.
In this shot, I am making the title move upwards. In doing this I have to click on the text and drag it to the place I want it to go. I did this twice to get it to the place that I want it to go and make it go with the screen that is moving upwards. I think that this worked very well as it is perfectly in time and I would like to have something like this in my opening.
We have been using the programme After Effects to add titles into the film MI3.

Equipment Video- The Crane
This is an equipment test to show that we can put together and use different pieces of equipment.
I used the Crane. We had to weigh down the end to be able to use it well.
Equipment Lesson
For this lesson we were learning how to put together and work 3 different pieces of equipment.
The Dolly
The Crane
Hand held Base
We all had to take a video with the equipment and we also had a picture taken while using it.

WW1 Medals
WW1 Medals
There were five campaign medals available for individuals who saw service in the First World War. An individual, male or female, could be issued with a maximum of three of these medals, although there are a small number of exceptions to the rule.
Service medals were issued automatically to other ranks, but officers or their next of kin had to apply for them. Medals were impressed with the name of the recipient and usually included some or all of the following: service number, rank, first name or initial, surname and military unit (Regiment or Corps). This was either on the rim of the medal or in the case of a star, on the reverse.
In addition to the five campaign medals a badge was available to officers and men who had been honorably discharged or had retired as a result of sickness or wounds from war service.
Below are the medals that my grandpa achieved in the war. I am going to use these to put on my brother as a flash back.

Final Narrative
•For my final idea I have decided to do a Romantic film. I am going to base it on WW1 and have my grandpas medals and my grannies diary entries from that time. I will have it set in my grannies apartment as this is where all the medals and diary entries are. I am going to set all of the flash backs in my front yard as when I add a 8mm film I think that this will look like an old place.
•Location-I am going to set it in my grannies flat and also outside my house. I will film the flashbacks in the garden of my house and put a 8mm film clip over it to make it seem like it was a long time ago. I am going to film the rest in my grannies flat as this is where all the medals and diary entries are kept.
•Costumes- I will get my grannie to wear her normal clothes as these suit the fact that it is everday. I will get my brother and his two friends to be in their marines uniform as this is what they would be wearing to recieve the medals.
•Narrative- In my film I am going to have a voice over of the diary entries that my grannie has from back then. I will have the voice over then linking to what is going on. When the medal is being handed over to my brother I will have the voice over about why he got it and what he did to deserve it. I wont have any direct talk I will just have voice overs because I think that this is clearer to show memories.
•Actors- My grannie is going to play herself. She is going to be in the present day and speaking about her experiences when her late husband got his medals. She will have some diary entries of when she met him and what he got his medals for. My brother, James, is going to play my grandpa when he was younger. He will be the one recieving the medals in the flash back. He will only be in the flash backs. My brothers friends, Barty and Robin, will be playing the other marines. They will be with my brother when they are leaving to go to war.
